My dad took me and my brother out fishing and camping
occasionally, just because it was something you did with your kids. Out of the
two of us, I’m the only one that caught the fishing and camping bug, though.
The girl in the family is the outdoors enthusiast. Go figure.
When I was a teenager and other girls were reading Cosmo and
Seventeen, I was spending my reading time on Field & Stream and Outdoor
Life. I’ve fished for everything from bluegill to halibut, and I have more rods
and reels than I do shoes.
Over the years, I mostly worked in the technology and
telecommunications fields. I’ve done tech support for Microsoft, T-Mobile, Verizon,
and Cellular One. I’ve written internal knowledge base articles for all of
these companies.
Unfortunately, these jobs didn’t allow me to enjoy the
outdoors as much as I would have liked. In 2009, I discovered copywriting as a
career and quit my job at Verizon to work for myself as a freelancer full time.
I’m glad I finally found a way to satisfy my passion for writing and fishing at
the same time.

to work for you.
